For his great contributions to the development of national musical art and many years of fruitful activity, world-renowned opera singer Ildar Abdrazakov has been honored with a high state award—the honorary title “People’s Artist of the Russian Federation.”
For over two decades, Ildar Abdrazakov’s creative work has served as a benchmark of devotion to art and has played a key role in preserving, developing, and promoting the great traditions of the Russian opera school worldwide.
Under Ildar Abdrazakov’s artistic direction, the Sevastopol Opera and Ballet Theatre has reached a new level, realizing large-scale projects of national significance. In 2025, the theatre’s productions were triumphantly presented on the country’s main stages: the New Stage of the Bolshoi Theatre, the Historic and New Stages of the Mariinsky Theatre, in the Zaryadye Concert Hall, and as part of the IX International Opera and Ballet Festival “Chersonesus.”
Particular attention should be paid to the maestro’s systematic work in nurturing a new generation of artists. As the founder and head of the Ildar Abdrazakov Foundation for Supporting Young Talents, since 2018 he has been hosting his own annual festival, uniting world opera stars and bright young performers. Over the years, the festival has reached 30 cities across Russia. As part of the educational program, Ildar Abdrazakov and distinguished educators invited by him conduct master classes, creating favorable conditions for the professional development of future opera stars.
Ildar Abdrazakov is a People’s Artist of the Republic of Bashkortostan, a People’s Artist of the Republic of Tatarstan, a holder of the Order of Friendship of the Peoples of Bashkortostan and the Order of Salavat Yulaev—”National Hero of the Republic of Bashkortostan.” He has been awarded the State Prize of the Russian Federation in Literature and Art, the National Theatre Award “Golden Mask.” He has also received awards from the Italian critics’ prize Franco Abbiati and the Villa Bertelli Foundation for “magnificent performance in the true Italian tradition,” as well as the Dmitri Shostakovich, Casta Diva, and BraVo awards.
The awarding of the honorary title “People’s Artist of the Russian Federation” is a recognition of Ildar Abdrazakov’s unique artistic talent and international authority, as well as his active civic stance and significant contribution to the public and cultural life of Russia.
