On May 2, Ildar joins a lineup of star performers in a gala concert marking the opening of Mariinsky II, an expanded home for the legendary opera company. Conducted by Mariinsky Artistic and General Director Valery Gergiev, the evening features artists including Plácido Domingo, Anna Netrebko, René Pape, violinist Leonidas Kavakos, students of the Vaganova Academy of Russian Ballet, soloists of the Mariinsky Academy of Young Singers, and more.
The Mariinsky II is located in a neighboring site to the original opera house in the heart of St. Petersburg. The seven-story structure contains a 2,000-seat auditorium, a rooftop ampitheatre and terrace, and expanded rehearsal spaces.
