Ildar joins an all-star lineup of performers and other public figures on May 30 at the square in front of Vienna’s Burgtheater for the 2014 Red Ribbon Celebration Concert, the opening event of annual international AIDS charity event and multi-day opulent Viennese-style extravaganza the Life Ball. Ildar sings alongside Piotr Beczala, Thomas Hampson, Yusif Eyvazov, Luca Pisaroni, Ambrogio Maestri, Vesselina Kasarova and Jennifer O’Loughlin, accompanied by the ORF Vienna Radio Symphony Orchestra under conducter Cornelius Meister at the free concert, which is open to the public. Eurovision Song Contest 2014 winner Conchita Wurst will also perform, in addition to actors Marcia Cross, Billy Zane and others, reading texts that reflect tolerance and unity in keeping with the the evening’s motto, “United in difference”. Fashion icon Vivienne Westwood has created the stage design for the concert, which depicts visions of the Garden of Eden as inspired by Hieronymus Bosch in keeping with Life Ball 2014 motto “The Garden of Earthly Delights”.
The proceeds of the Red Ribbon Celebration Concert will go towards the Clinton Health Access Initiative (CHAI), contributing to sustainably stem the mother-to-child transmission of HIV in sub-Saharan Africa.
