Ildar Abdrazakov to Conduct at the Opening of the “Khvorostovsky” Arts Festival

Today, October 16, on the birthday of the legendary opera singer Dmitri Hvorostovsky, the arts festival named in his honor will be opened by world-renowned opera singer, Honored Artist of Russia, laureate of the State Prize, two-time Grammy Award winner, Artistic Director of the Sevastopol State Opera and Ballet Theatre, and a close friend of Dmitri Hvorostovsky – Ildar Abdrazakov. The maestro will take to the Krasnoyarsk stage in a new role – as a conductor.

Under his direction, Gioachino Rossini’s “Stabat Mater” will be performed from the stage of the Krasnoyarsk Philharmonic Grand Concert Hall by the Krasnoyarsk Academic Symphony Orchestra and two choral ensembles – the Moscow State Academic Chamber Choir and the Krasnoyarsk Chamber Choir. The concert will also feature soloist Gleb Peryazev (bass) of the Mariinsky Theatre, as well as participants of Ildar Abdrazakov’s International Music Festival: Anastasia Sagaidak (soprano), Maria Boyko (mezzo-soprano), and Iosif Nikitenko (tenor).

On October 18, Ildar Abdrazakov will perform on the stage of the D.A. Hvorostovsky Krasnoyarsk State Opera and Ballet Theatre in the title role of Modest Mussorgsky’s opera “Boris Godunov.” The guest soloists are stars of the opera stage. The conductor will be Felix Korobov.
