Ivan the Terrible with Deutsche Symphonie-orchester Berlin January 12, 13

With 2013 in full swing, bass Ildar Abdrazakov returns to the stage as guest soloist with theDeutsche Symphonie-Orchester Berlin, performing Prokofiev’s Ivan the Terrible at the German capital’s Philharmonie on January 12 and 13. Conductor Tugan Sokhiev leads an ensemble that also includes mezzo-soprano Olga Borodina, the Berlin Radio Choir, as well as the State and Cathedral Choir Berlin. Prokofiev’s music for Sergei Eisenstein’s epic film about this iconic Russian figure will also feature narration by Wladimir Kaminer.
